OUR SUGAR SOURCES

We verify the production chain of our suppliers, ensuring that they have all the international certifications thus their products are mostly free of: exploited labor, irreversible environmental impact, unfair working conditions.

Fair trade is a movement that seeks to promote social and environmental sustainability in the production of goods, including sugar. Several organizations in Brazil, such as the Coopfam (Cooperative of Family Farmers of Poço Fundo and Region) and Coopersanta (Santa Rita do Sapucaí Agro-Extractive Cooperative), have received Fairtrade certification for their sugar products. These organizations are comprised of small-scale farmers who have come together to create a sustainable and fair supply chain.

Top producer of fine sugar in the world.

ABOUT SUGAR

Attention to Detail

Brazil is a major player in the global sugar industry, accounting for a significant share of global sugar production. Sugarcane is the primary raw material used for sugar production in Brazil. The main sugarcane-growing regions are located in the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Goiás, and Mato Grosso do Sul.

Brazil produces both raw sugar and refined sugar. Raw sugar, also known as VHP (Very High Polarization) sugar, is a common export product. Refined sugar is produced through further processing and purification of raw sugar, and it is used in various food and beverage applications.

The sugar industry in Brazil is characterized by a mix of large corporate players, cooperatives, and small-scale farmers. Many sugarcane mills are integrated operations, meaning they produce both sugar and ethanol.
